2022 Driving World Championships Pratroni del Vivaro, Italy
September 18-26, 2022
We are returning to Rome in 2022 for the Eventing and Driving World Championships, being held in nearby Pratoni del Vivaro, site of the 1998 World Equestrian Games. As Pratoni is just 22 miles from Rome, you can enjoy the lovely sights of Rome as well as the dining and shopping to be found here. Prior to the Driving World Championships, we are planning visits in Rome including the Colosseum, and you can visit the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, and other sites with your Hop on – Hop Off sightseeing shuttle.
We have now received additional information from Patroni on tickets costs and the VIP Pavilion, we will offer it as an option for those who wish. It includes four days’ entry to the VIP Pavilion with morning cake and coffee, lunch buffet with food and drinks, a lounge area and big screens with live feed from the competitions and premium seating on all days. There are separate packages for week 1 and week 2.

Sunday, September 18: Depart for Rome and the Driving World Championships
Those joining us for the Week 2 Driving World Championships will depart for Rome today.
Monday, September 19: Welcome to Rome – Driving World Championship
Welcome to Rome. Transfers will be arranged to our hotel.You are free to relax and settle in. Reception and dinner at our delightful hotel this evening.
Tuesday, September 20: Sightseeing in Rome
We plan a visit to the Colosseum and the Forum this morning. During the afternoon and on Wednesday, enjoy the Hop on Hop Off shuttle and visit other sites of Rome. Don’t miss the Pantheon and Piazza Novona.
Wednesday, September 21: Free day to Explore
Driving Week guests can continue with the Hop on-Hop shuttle. Our hotel, the Savoy, is well located, nearby the Borghese Gardens and a short walk from the Spanish Steps, the Via Veneto, the Via del Corso and the many sights of Rome. We will have suggestions for visits to the Vatican and the Galleria Borghese for those who wish.
Thursday – Friday, September 22/23: Driving Dressage
Morning departure for Pratoni and the Dressage phase of the Driving Championships. Pratoni del Vivaro is only offering general stadium seating (no reserved seats) or the VIP Pavilion. We anticipate a extensive marketplace, so great shopping opportunities.
Saturday, September 24: Driving Marathon Phase
Early departure for Pratoni for the Driving Marathon.
Sunday, September 25: Driving Cones Phase and Farewell Reception
We should have a leisurely departure this morning. On returning to Rome, please join us on the terrace for drinks and extensive refreshments. I think you will be pleased and will not leave hungry, but if you wish, head out to your new favorite restaurant with friends new and old. We would just like to say goodbye first.
Monday, September 26: Depart for Home
Transfers to FCO this morning for your return flights. I hope you depart with good memories. Farewell and safe travels to you all. Arrivederci.
